Hi, I’m Cadence!
People describe me as warm, attentive, intuitive, and empowering. I am committed to providing a safe, creative, and affirming space for teens and adults to heal and grow. I support clients through relational talk therapy, expressive arts therapy, and somatic techniques.
I’d like to be your accomplice in connecting with self-compassion and growth. I want to invite you to shed the parts of you that no longer serve you and gain a sense of pride in the parts that have woven the tapestry of your resilience. I want to support you in re-writing your story and living as your highest self.
How I work:
My style of working can be described as eclectic. I combine multiple modalities to create a blend of approaches uniquely tailored to the needs of my client. Here are some of the values and methods I tap into to support you in your healing, growth, and wellness.
-
One of the most fundamental parts of any healthy relationship is safety, and therapy is no exception. For useful insights and inspirations to grow to happen, our relationship must have safety and trust. I also am focused on transparency in the therapy. This work is medicine that clients learn to work with themselves, and I will often share what I'm doing and why in the session. The therapeutic container is a co-created collaboratative space that we build together. I am also convinced that that we are not individuals in a vacuum, but members of various cultural groups with their own history and societal contexts.
-
I trust my clients and their own innate wisdom to heal and grow. You have come this far in life by adapting to your environment in skilled and innovative ways. Some of these adaptations support you in how far you've come and will continue to. Some of them got you through challenging times and now need to be updated to serve you now and into the future. I do not see clients as a collection of deficits and diagnoses. I am strength-based and empowering, honoring your power. I encourage you to exercise your agency in our therapy and expand that to the rest of your life.
-
Our therapeutic container is co-created by the members of our dyad. I am not a therapist who imposes my ideas of healing but shares tools to equip you in your own self-actualization.
-
Psychotherapy is only effective if it serves the needs and interests of the client. Clients come into therapy with a range of experiences stemming from the multitude of identities we all hold. I strive to be anti-racist, intersectional feminist, liberatory for queer and trans people, and decolonized.
Narrative: Our everyday lives and histories are built on a foundation of a myriad of stories we internalize about ourselves and the world around us. This therapy externalizes these stories so that we can examine, deconstruct, and write new narratives that are empowering and full.
Relational: Through engaging and deep conversation, I focus on your healing through the relationship between the therapist and client, emphasizing how patterns of connection, attachment, and interpersonal dynamics shape your emotional life.
Expressive Arts: Through the use of creative arts such as drawing, painting, poetry and movement, we will explore your healing experientially, using our body and senses to physically manifest our healing potential.

Who I Work With:
I support clients with a wide range of personalities and issues. Some of the people who gravitate towards my work include people with these traits:
The Passionate and “Too Much”: I thrive on supporting people who are full of fire that sometimes overwhelms themselves and others. You might struggle with mood swings or feeling out of control. You probably have a lot of light which can be sometimes blinding.
Insightful intellectualizers: You are introspective and self-examining. You’re aware of your patterns but struggle to change them. It can be hard to get in touch with your deeper feelings or experience them. Others may perceive you as being highly intelligent but difficult to relate to. Forming authentic deep emotional bonds might be a challenge.
The Wanderers: You might be struggling with direction. You have a wide range of experiences but are having trouble committing to a path that is fulfilling purpose-driven. I can support you in finding your path and navigating the world as your authentic self.
